“My name is Susan Samples and my husband Kevin and I moved to Lakeview Oregon in 1987. We own the Burger Queen in Lakeview Oregon and we have been in business for over 30 years. It is a full time job, we work seven days a week. Even if we’re not physically in the building, we’re always doing something that is business oriented.
On August 3rd, 2018 there was a fire that started outside the grease container and unfortunately they could not get it out. It went up through the rafters, destroyed the entire inside of the building, and we had to make a decision whether we wanted to rebuild or if we wanted to walk away. But we have a strong love for this community. They have supported us and we have supported them and we just felt like we had to rebuild. It was a hard process because it was very stressful but I’m really glad that we did and the community’s support has been overwhelming.
We have to make enough in the summer to get through the winter and Pacific Crest helps us in the fact that number one we have a credit line if we need it and you know, that’s a lot of security having them there for us. Also, the crew up there is amazing. I mean I feel so confident in them that I never have to worry about their integrity, their honesty. I could trust them with anything, they are amazing people. I just think this is a great community and anyone raising a family, I really recommend it to them.“
