Pacific Crest FCU is rebranding to Sage CU
Nearly 90 years ago, a few members of a local lumbermen’s union formed the Klamath 4L Credit Union, Charter #960. The CU began by providing a safe place for families to keep their funds on deposit and loan money to each other when needed.
Over the years, the membership has expanded, and with each expansion the name has changed as well: 4L, Weyerhaeuser, Forest Products, Pacific Crest. With our unique way of doing business that works well in a rural environment, we have been granted an even larger charter area. In 2026, we plan to go deeper into the sage land and open membership to 6 new counties! In Oregon: Harney and Malheur Counties. In Nevada: Humboldt, Pershing, Lander, and Eureka Counties.
The Credit Union still has the same goal: to provide a safe place for families to keep their funds on deposit and loan money to each other when needed. As we look to expand into these similar communities, we’ve realized that our name only resonates with the western edge of our service area. It’s time for Charter #960’s name to change once again to reflect the entire sage land region we now serve. Beginning January 1st, 2026, Pacific Crest Federal Credit Union will begin doing business as Sage Credit Union.

While you’re in the sage land, you’ll likely see families of quail winding their way through the brush. Quail are a great representation of the people of our region. We keep our heads down, take care of our families, warn each other when danger approaches, and spring into action when necessary. For us, quail represent:

- Trusted protectors
- Patient strength
The word mark
If you make the drive between any of our branches, you are guaranteed to see a lot of sage! We chose the name Sage because we feel a strong connection with the people that make up our region. Sage land isn’t the easiest to work, or plow, and we recognize that our forbearers had to roll their sleeves up and do the hard work to make a life here. For us, Sage represents:
- Diligent effort
- Wise decision making
- Roots that run deep
The expanded area
We have figured out a unique way to do banking in the rural sage land environment we all call home. The Credit Union has been granted an expanded rural charter that opens membership to more counties.

No, the change in our branding is not the result of a merger or acquisition. We have the same team, same branches, same products, just with a different name.
No, we will not be moving our headquarters from Klamath Falls.

Historically, every time our Credit Union has expanded the charter we’ve also rebranded. We’ve been:
- 4L Credit Union (Loyal Legion of Loggers and Lumbermen)
- Weyerhaeuser Klamath FCU
- Forest Products FCU
- Pacific Crest FCU
There are no changes in the board of directors or credit union staff related to the expansion or rebrand.
How does this affect you?

Other than that, this rebrand will have little effect on your relationship with us. You’ll see a new logo on our buildings and your statements, and the next time you get a new debit or credit card it will have our new logo. That’s about it!
No, your account numbers, loans, cards, and login credentials will all remain the same.
No, in 2026 the myPCFCU mobile app will update and will automatically switch its name and logo to the SageCU mobile app.

No, direct deposits including payroll information and social security payments will continue to function with no changes.
No, automatic payments will continue to function as normal.
No, checks with the Pacific Crest name, logo, and numbers will continue to function as normal.
If you need to order new checks in 2026, we encourage you to use the Sage CU name, but all other info will remain the same.
Your account number, and the Credit Union routing number remain unchanged.
No, insurance documents referencing Pacific Crest FCU will remain valid.
Yes, your deposit insurance remains unchanged.
The name change has been approved by the NCUA.
